Toyota Teases Upcoming Sports Car and Multiple Brand Announcements

Toyota has revealed new details about its highly anticipated sports car debut, including teaser photos of a billboard at Fuji Speedway. The images, shared on Toyota’s official X page (formerly Twitter), show the front end of the upcoming car positioned alongside the legendary LFA and 2000GT, hinting at the company’s homage to its iconic sports car heritage.

The automaker is expected to make multiple announcements this Monday in Japan, covering several of its brands including GR, Crown, and Daihatsu. While Toyota has not confirmed specific details, a teaser website provides subtle clues: translated, it reads,

“The sign at Fuji Speedway has changed. On the left is the 2000GT. Next to it is the LFA. And next to that...?”

The site also links to the Toyota Times YouTube channel for a livestream, indicating the announcements will be streamed online.

Automotive analysts speculate that Monday’s reveal may include the GR GT3 race car, a precursor to the upcoming Lexus LFR. Toyota Racing President David Wilson previously suggested that the GR GT3 would make its racing debut at the 2026 Daytona 24 Hours in January, and the vehicle has yet to be seen by the public.

The road-going Lexus equivalent is expected to arrive after the GR GT3, but Toyota may offer a first look at the sports car during Monday’s event. Recent prototypes tested by the company, marked with yellow stickers, suggest a hybrid powertrain likely paired with a V8 engine.

In addition to the sports car, Toyota could announce updates across its other brands, including GR, Daihatsu, and Crown, leaving enthusiasts eager for the upcoming livestream.

Stay tuned as Toyota prepares to unveil its next-generation sports car and potentially other exciting developments next week.
